FLPD Officer Feldewert …. Racist?

…..  Problems between Police Agencies and black communities seem to be at their  worst  ……  And in Fort Lauderdale, the City just reinstated a 20 year Police Officer, Jeff Feldewert,  after he was  initially slated for firing for inappropriate, racially tinged Facebook postings  … Fellow citizens have been asking me if I knew why ….

……..   Pictures like these seem to be all over the news now a days, and with social media being the rage, nothing is behind the scenes  … ..   A new phrase has been added to the nation’s lexicon –

……  The race case on FLPD veteran Officer Feldewert  began after he put this post on Facebook –

………… The caption reads ” Typical hoodrat behavior – black People, because without them the evening news wouldn’t be as much fun to watch  …  ……   Feldewert’s case came to light after a much reported case of four FLPD officers that made a racist “movie trailer” for the internet, and were subsequently fired  ….. Three of the four are suing to reverse their termination  …. …..

…….  Word has it that the City Attorney’s office told City Manager Lee Feldman that the case for Feldewert’s  firing was thin at best ….

………And  according to an Internal Affairs interview with the Officer,  Feldewert admits the posting was “supposed to get a chuckle”, and that he is not racist, has a good 20 year record with no racial problems, and admits to “poor judgement” … He asked for a second chance, his job back  …

…….   Chief Adderley agrees with the reinstatement  ….. He told me that Feldewert made mistakes, owned up to them, and that his case doesn’t rise to a firing status like the others ….  He says that the 10 day suspension without pay was adequate, and that Feldewert will be watched and “shouldn’t make any more mistakes” ….   He cites a similar case of a black female FLPD Police Officer, who was also reprimanded and not fired for saying on Facebook  that she didn’t want to work for the “white man” all her life  ….

…..Adderley says he understands the sensitive nature of these cases, and is working with State Attorney Satz to develop a racial sensitivity program where Officers such as Feldewert will talk with young black youth about police/citizen relationships  ….

……   I reminded Adderley that he was one of a very few black Police Chiefs, from big national cities, that grew up in a poor black neighborhood and rose through the ranks to Chief  ……  that he had a special responsibility    …..  As a friend, I told him I hope he takes that humble advice seriously ……

  1. This Person should not have his job. I believe he has racism against all minorities, self entitled Karen syndrome and demeans Women! He reported to my domestic violence call where it was clear cut and dry and happened to me and was caught laughing and making comments about me and downplaying and would not arrest my abuser who knocked me out in public in front of my neighbors and my son. He would not even go after or contact my perpetrator. He also cannot be a witness of support as he was already another valid witness due to his racism and comments for facebook. He also underwrote my police report he would not properly do his job and investigate my case on site when it happened. I had to convince the state attorney’s office basically to take my case it’s how I felt. I feel his presence still being in the police department damaged my case and future cases because of what I had to deal with not having proper witnesses and his testimony because he was not allowed to be a witness in the state attorney’s office he is a cold self entitled threat in my eyes to citizens who are just purely trying to get help. This is why people don’t call for help because this is the type of experience and results she gets when you have police officers who feel like they are God and don’t do the job. Would you as an example ever have a person that’s not truthful and has no regard for all humanity serve you food if for instance as an example spit in your food because it didn’t like the Way You are? That’s the same difference on why is this person still allowed to have this authority he should be stripped of all his certificates and put in a program. I’m a big part of woman in distress and this man totally stripped me of my dignity basically that day and all future endeavors that I needed to support on. It’s disgusting and shame on the fort Lauderdale Police department and everyone else will allowed him to stay. Sorry I am just speaking my mind and till this day from 2017 I still think about how humiliated I felt because of him and how it affected my case and how the commissioner and fort Lauderdale Police department allowed him to stay that disgusting person. Thank you freedom of speech and opinions. I pray for him and I hope somebody corrected his mind and brought him back to reality. Peace
