Fort Lauderdale- the History, a two act play, will be performed on the grounds of the historic 1915 Annie Beck House, (which is in the Middle River Terrace Park on Dixie Highway – 1329 N. Dixie) ..

The play is being produced by the 13th Street Alliance, who manages the house for the Broward Trust for Historic Preservation, who saved it from the wrecking ball some years back, and moved it to the park….

And get this – the Fort Lauderdale City Commissioners, Police Chief, City Manager, the Director of Riverwalk, Prez of the Council of Neighborhoods etc, are the actors !!! ( sounds even funner now eh?)

The play tells the story of  Fort Lauderdale from 1793-1960 –

And yes, Connie Francis will be there to sing Where the Boys Are – well kinda!

The event starts at 2:30 with a cocktail party (open bar – lots of  eats) for $20, ( it’s a fundraiser for the perpetual care of the historic house) or you can just come to the play for free – it starts at 4 pm!

  1. l. Dear Commissioner Smith, when will you write °FORT LAUDERDALE FOLLIES: The City Commission at work and play”?
    2. Would Charlotte Rodstrom have voted to put a PLANTATION RESIDENT on the FORT LAUDERDALE CITY COMMISSION as Dean Trantalis did?
Would Charlotte Rodstrom stabbed the Mayor and rest of the City Commission in the back with a faux Townhall on homelessness when the bus shelters and benches of HIS DISTRICT are UNUSEABLE because of the homeless?

I know all the reasons Commissioner Trantalis defeated Charlotte Rodstrom last time. At that time he was more °responsible° than she was.

But times change, and now I am seriously concern about this constant °political moves° that don’t smell so Kosher.

Maybe I am wrong, I have been wrong about people before, but a REFORMER DOES NOT put a Plantation resident on the Fort Lauderdale City Commission. PERIOD. PERIOD. PERIOD!

  2. How was City Man. Lee Feldman’s performance. If these area lobbyist(many) could rate him would not be all that flatering. I was out and about and thats all I heard(you know I tell you everything-you have a right to know people since we are all payin the bills. So I was being told the who”s who are very upset w/ lee. Oh he is over steppin his boundaries(they do not like being told what to do(too bad). To he is a menace to the County comm(law suit, after law suit etc). I guess Mr.Feldman has ruffled a few feathers esp. w/ the downtowner big shots(names ok(Mayor seiler likes names-never have lied to him, and he the same(thank you). Stephanie Toothacker on down for one. Hearing that i wondered if she was behind all the noise(maybe). I question if it was County comm manger Bertha Henry. I would bet that she is putting the word out to go after Feldman. However, the lobbyist from Toothacker, Pratt, Stern, (you get the picture). I say the trash talk is being instigated by Henry. Oh yeah they above mentioned are putting heat on the Comm. My feeling is play ball w/ Mr.Feldman. He is going nowhere. He has the majority of the comm. backin him. They are also pissed that Lee threaten to pull the plug on Beach Place(too bad). I got your back on this one Lee… Also that we might have a canidate for Dean Trantalis ‘ seat in Idelywood(how about Nurmi dr-I say). Also a possible canidate against Jack seiler(Judy, do you want to do the honors)…..Lastly Att.Bill Scherer and his son John. W/ these train tracks to Orlando(all aboard huh Grand Wizard???. I was floored when he stated that he was helping the church sue our City(no deal Att.Everett-stick to your guns)..
